At Trek and Tern Studios, we create modern designs that reflect a love of art, travel, culture and movement. Started by Monica and Adam Meistrell in 2009, Trek and Tern Studios continues to adapt.

Monica- I am a FGCU graduate who spends most of my time raising four kids and kicking it with my pottery making husband. Nature is my inspiration, I especially love pairing birds with pattern. I love observing how God ordered all things to reflect his glory, and to get to be a part of the creative process that speaks of his goodness is an honor. I have a knack for realism with a bit of whimsy.

Adam - I feel a constant tug between the hard, clean lines of graphic design and the rugged look of handmade objects. I love borders and fences. Fences invoke a sense comfort and safety, as well as the impending excitement of breaking or jumping those boundaries and exploring life beyond. The boundaries allow for both goals and adventures.

My travels throughout the world and the accompanying experiences inspire my artwork. I allude to symbols of travel and flight.

Day 21: biggest bird you’ve seen in real life! I have seen bigger birds at the zoo but I’m picking out in the wild- and for that it’s the Sandhill Crane. I freaking love them. These guys can get up to 4 and 1/2 feet tall! Leggy. #fe
